Welcome to enjoy a moment of friendly, positive and multicultural craft making, in Cross Stitches with Oili Kuukasjärvi, Finnish visual artist and activist that guides us in designing and making small handicrafts with cross stitches and basic embroidery techniques. Our crafts carry a message: kindness has the same effect in every language in every culture.

These events are inspired by #yasvb (https://craftivism.com/yasvb/): ”It’s time to remind both ourselves and others of just how wonderful we all inherently are. It’s time to let our acts of stitching go by leaving them in places for someone to find, someone who needs to hear those words just as you do, if not more. As craftivism is about healing ourselves as we make, and then healing the world with our products, let’s get to it.”

No previous experience is needed. We work in the spirit of anti-perfectionism and solidarity, and we learn from each other about the crafting traditions of our cultures. All materials are free of charge. Doors are open from 14:00 to 15:30 hrs; you can stay for the time that you want in this period, enjoying crafts, tea and company :-)

For now, the meetins take place in an apartment with staircase to the second floor; note this in case of disabilities. Normally we have max 4 people. We are currently looking for a bigger meeting place. Registration is mandatory.
